Subawards

Subawards

Overview

An outgoing subaward is an agreement with a third party performing a portion of the research project or program. The prime agreement often involves details as to who the third party will be. For any sponsored research project awarded to Texas A&M University System that involves an external, third party to perform a substantive portion of the programmatic effort, an outgoing subaward will be initiated to formalize the relationship. The subrecipient will work collaboratively with the prime award recipient in carrying out the prime award scope of work. SRS has dedicated contract negotiators to assist you with this process.

Note: It can be difficult at times to accurately determine whether a true subrecipient relationship exits. Please contact your project administrator to determine if a subrecipient relationship exists.

The following are a list of items that will be required to prepare and complete a subaward:

      • Statement of Work that includes a detailed description of the work to be performed by the subawardee, timelines and deliverables required.
      • Budget and Budget Justification (if NIH, Sponsor Budget and Checklist required)
      • Negotiated Facilities and Administrative Rate Agreement
      • Subrecipient Commitment Form – must be signed by the subrecipient’s authorized organizational representative
